This colour scheme focuses on quiet strength. Warm greys and subtle textures create a strong but calming atmosphere. This colour palette is all about creating a personal sanctuary and has tactility within it. Mattes and subtle textures such as organic edges are made to be felt and paired with some lush furniture it can successfully create a sanctuary.

Celebrating Nature

Laminex Green Slate

There has been a shift in design towards a more natural approach. The focus is now on natural fibres, raw elements and unrefined timbers. It is evident that the anti-plastic movement is even effecting interior design. Colour palettes for this trend are earthy toned and spaces can see a combination of ceramics, stone and woods.

Contemporary design is finding itself more and more driven by health, wellness and mindfulness. Achieving this within a room means creating simple and soft spaces with positive and playful colour combinations. These colour palettes can be complemented with whites and timbers. As was decided by Pantone, the colour of the year is Coral and it can already be seen making its way into interior design, along with nudes and peachy colours.

They say that trends go through cycles, well this is also applicable here. With the move away from a disposable society there has been a desire to return to rich, earthy and organic colours, somewhat reminiscent of the 70s. Colours within this colour palette range from muted and textured metallic to red base timbers and creamy neutrals.

Paradoxical

Laminex Pillarbox

On one end of the spectrum we have a return to soft, neutral tones, but here we see more play with unconventional colours and pairings. Creating the perfect balance is essential when it comes to challenging conventions; bold colours with pastels and light neutrals is the way to do this. Statement interiors with these highly contrasted pairings can create engaging and welcoming spaces. Amongst this colour palette are saturated blues, bold reds, mid tone greys and a few pops of pink.
